Motion-blurred black and white portrait — hair swept across the face, hands in the pockets of a ribbed sweater, grain and blur intentional

About

I make imagesthe way I write:looking for what is truebefore it becomes beautiful.

Bio

I'm Laura Adochiței, a photographer, filmmaker and creative director with a background in journalism, storytelling and visual communication.

I work across portraiture, fashion, commercial campaigns and film, moving between instinct and structure, observation and direction. Writing has always been part of the way I see, so my work often begins with a feeling, a sentence or an image I can't quite forget.

I'm drawn to people, imperfect gestures, natural light, movement and the small details that make an image feel lived rather than constructed.

Philosophy

I don't start with the camera.

From there come the story, the light, the movement, the direction and, only then, the image.

I'm not interested in perfection for its own sake. I'm interested in presence. In the second before someone poses. In the gesture that wasn't planned. In images that still feel human after the campaign, the trend or the moment has passed.
